Bypass Lane Arrives at Stegeman Coliseum

Published: November 11, 2010

ATHENS, GA - The University of Georgia is excited to announce the implementation of a ground-breaking technology that will enhance the fan experience at Stegeman Coliseum, the school's newly renovated, 10,523-seat multi-purpose arena. Bypass Lane allows fans to order and pay for concessions on their smartphones and skip the annoyance of time-consuming concession lines. The Georgia Bulldogs are the first major university to offer a venue-wide solution that allows every fan from any seat in the coliseum to use the service.

"We're excited to team up with Bypass Lane and Aramark, our concessions partner, to provide our fans with what we feel is a great addition to their gameday experience in Stegeman Coliseum," said John Bateman, UGA Director of Marketing. "Whether fans are parking their cars, walking to Stegeman Coliseum or in their seats, they will now be able to order concessions from their phone and cheer on the Bulldogs without missing a single second."

Bypass Lane, an Austin-based company, is the innovative team behind the technology. By navigating to www.BypassLane.com on their smartphones (Android, Blackberry OS6, Dell mobile devices, iPhone, Palm mobile devices among others), fans can view the full food and drink menus of select concessions stands in the vicinity of their seats. Fans then place their order and pay with a credit card using Bypass' secure payment platform. A text message is sent to the fan when their order is ready for pickup from the nearest Bypass Lane, helping them get back to their seat in short order.

A recent case study on the performance of this technology suggests Bypass Lane cuts the average concession worker processing time from more than 77 seconds to 15-40 seconds. With the beginning of basketball season, and the Georgia Bulldogs ranked third in the SEC East by the SEC Media Preseason Poll and the Lady Bulldogs chosen as the number four SEC pre-season pick , Bypass Lane will ensure fans' time away from the game will be streamlined to a fraction of what it once was.

"The Bypass Lane team looks forward to working with the Georgia Bulldogs, especially as they embark on the highly anticipated 2010-2011 basketball season in the new Stegeman Coliseum," Bypass Lane President Brandon Lloyd said. "We are passionate about the fan experience and believe institutions such as the University of Georgia will appreciate what our technology will do to ensure hassle-free concessions for devoted fans. The University of Georgia should be applauded for recognizing how this service will greatly improve their fan experience."

Bulldog fans are encouraged to visit www.BypassLane.com to register for their free account in advance of the game.
